Corona Virus News
All services and social activities in the church and hall are suspended until further notice. Here is a message from Rev’d Andy attached is a letter from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York outlining their decision to suspend public worship in church for the time being.
This naturally means that we will not be meeting for the foreseeable future for our various communion services, nor indeed any other form of worship that involves a gathered community.
Having said this, advice over funerals etc is still to be produced.
Please rest assured that Ali and I will indeed by praying and holding the Eucharist ourselves during this time as the letter suggests, and as some of you may know we are putting together packs for prayer and worship that we will offer electronically or in paper form in the next few weeks for people to use at home should they wish.
I also encourage you along with the Archbishops to look to each other with care at this time.
If anyone is in need at this time then in the first instance they should contact Durham County Council either by phone on 03000 260000 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.People can also register themselves to “get Coronavirus Support as an extremely vulnerable person” online at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable

In the letter released today, the Archbishops asked us to hold Sunday 22nd of March as a day of prayer and action at this difficult time for our country. One action is that we hopefully light a candle and place it in our window at 7pm and stop for a moment to hold in our prayers those who are sick or anxious. If you don't wish to light a candle as an alternative you might wish to print off the poster and display it in you home.Click here for candle of hope poster
