St. James Church

St. James Church, Burnopfield is your Parish Church if you live in Burnopfield, The Leazes, The Lintz, The Hobson and Crookgate Bank and Dipton.

Corona Virus News

Important Up Date.

St James Church is now open once again for public worship on a Sunday morning at 11am. In order to attend you will need to book a place with the Vicar via phone between midday on Thursday and midday on Friday the week before the service itself as places are limited.

All previous COIVD-19 safety measures apply (e.g. masks, hand sanitiser, socially distanced seating) – and these can be explained when you contact the Vicar.

Please note, however, that there will be no private prayer sessions on a Wednesday for the time being.

Needing assistance at this difficult time ?

It can be a difficult time for some people during this period of national lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Church of England 24-hour telephone line, Daily Hope offering music, prayers and reflections on 0800 804 8044 may help .

Please also make a note of the Samaritans helpline 116 123.

Foodbank Donations.

Thank you to everyone who is still giving to the Foodbank. Having spoken to the Foodbank at Stanley, whilst they can and do use any fresh food that is donated, they really need canned goods at this time, such is the demand. If you do find yourself able to give anything, then please do so – you can if you wish leave it at the Vicarage by arrangement, or we could perhaps come and collect it – again in a socially distanced manner.
